Lia Benaglio is a Lead Systems Engineer in the Electrification Division at Dauch (formerly AAM), where she has grown her career since starting as a co-op in 2011. She brings extensive expertise in drivetrain systems, with a strong foundation in internal combustion engine (ICE) axle development and a current focus on electric drive unit (EDU) technologies.
Lia has a proven track record of leading the design, integration, and validation of complex propulsion systems, emphasizing performance, durability, and system optimization. She excels at guiding cross-functional teams through the challenges of electrification, effectively bridging traditional mechanical systems with modern electric architectures. Her work is driven by a commitment to delivering innovative, reliable solutions that support the automotive industry’s transition to sustainable mobility.
She holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University.
