Ram Vijayagopal is the technical lead for all vehicle technology evaluation activities in Vehicle & Mobility Systems Dept of Argonne National Laboratory. He is part of the development team for simulation tools such as Amber and Autonomie. He has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Univ of Michigan, and has over 18 years of experience in modelling and simulating advanced vehicles. At Argonne, he is responsible for quantifying the energy saving potential of technologies using modeling and simulation for passenger cars and trucks. He has co-authored numerous papers on the topic of vehicle modelling and simulation, and has contributed to DOE efforts in setting technology progress goals. He is part of several working groups under DOE-industry partnerships such as 21CTP & USDRIVE. He leads the system analysis tasks for sustainable combustion related technology collaboration program for international energy agency as well. Prior to joining Argonne, he had worked with Mahindra & Mahindra and Hitachi Automotive Systems as an engineer.
